Gilion Dumas

Gilion Dumas is an AV-rated attorney with over 14 years’ experience in commercial litigation. Since graduating with honors from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark in 1992, her practice has included complex business disputes, real estate, employment, and professional liability matters.
Ms. Dumas has tried many cases, both on her own and as second chair; taken over 200 depositions; handled dozens of arbitration hearings and mediations; researched and drafted complex briefs; and appeared in court on a wide variety of motions.
Her last solo trial was a real estate case in which Ms. Dumas successfully established a prescriptive easement against the City of Portland, a decision upheld by the Oregon Court of Appeals. Other recent projects include successfully prosecuting trade secret claims on behalf of a privately-held San Francisco company; defending the estate of a magazine publisher against multi-million dollar claims involving complex tax and probate issues; drafting an appellate brief for the Ninth Circuit in a high-end employment dispute; and second-chairing a professional liability trial against a civil engineer.
Ms. Dumas is an active member of the state and federal bars in Oregon, Washington, and California. She is a former Chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Business Litigation Section, a former President of the Oregon Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and a current member of the Republican National Lawyers Association.
