Phil Bennett

Phil Bennett is a civil litigator in all of Oregon state and federal trial courts. His practice emphasizes personal injury, including death and catastrophic injury cases, products liability, premises liability and construction defect, including EIFS and toxic mold.

He has tried cases in most counties in Oregon, and has over 50 jury trials to his credit. Prior to opening his own practice in 2007, Phil was the in-house trial council for CIGNA Insurance Company of Oregon for several years. He spent six years as a senior trial associate at Mitchell, Land and Smith and was a partner with Cosgrave, Verger, and Kester for the past 10 years.

Phil earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from the University of Oregon in 1981 and his law degree from the University of Oregon Law School in 1984. He became a member of the Oregon State Bar in 1984 and the U.S. District Court of Oregon in 1985.

When not working on behalf of his clients, Phil can be found sailing the waters of the Northwest.
