For the last 17 years, her practice has included complex business disputes, real estate, employment, and professional liability matters.  More recently, she has begun representing the victims of childhood sexual abuse.

Ms. Dumas has tried many cases, both on her own and as second chair; taken over 200 depositions; handled dozens of arbitration hearings and mediations; researched and drafted complex briefs; and appeared in court on a wide variety of motions.

In her most recent trial, Ms. Dumas obtained a judgment of over $4.5 million for a young woman who had been sexually molested as a child.  Her other trial victories include establishing quiet title to disputed property in an adverse possession case and successfully establishing a prescriptive easement against the City of Portland, a decision upheld by the Oregon Court of Appeals. Other recent projects include successfully prosecuting trade secret claims on behalf of a privately-held company; defending the estate of a magazine publisher against multi-million dollar claims involving complex tax and probate issues; and drafting an appellate brief for the Ninth Circuit in a high-end employment dispute. Ms. Dumas is an active member of the state and federal bars in Oregon, Washington, and California. She is a former Chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Business Litigation Section and a former President of the Oregon Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
